Number of disciplines such as English, Malayalam, Hindi, Economics, History, Music, Commerce, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, Home Science and Industrial Microbiology and Biochemistry. Each year we get students who represent a cross section of the entire state of Kerala, and we take special care in identifying and nurturing the geniuses in them. They are the life blood of our institution. We aim at expelling the darkness of ignorance by igniting the flames of true wisdom and freedom through education. The college envisions Enlightenment through Education, Empowerment of Women, Social uplifting and Universal brotherhood. We take great pride in our alumni who include civil service officers, doctors, engineers, scientists, professors, writers, sports persons and distinguished politicians.

Our team of zealous faculty makes sure that the students get the best teaching- learning experience. They engage the students through traditional teaching methods as well as innovative modern methods. We make sure that the students get to interact with leading academicians and experts by way of seminars, debates, quizzes, discussions etc. Our college offers rare courses like Music, Home Science and IMB. Eminent musician and State award winner, Dr. Bhavana Radhakrishnan was our faculty member. Renowned playback singer Dr. Arundhathi B also belonged to the Department of Music of our College. Most of our faculty members are either PhD holders or pursuers.

We have Postgraduate courses in English, Economics, Physics, Chemistry and Home Science and the Physics and Chemistry departments are research centres. We have more than 2500 students, 101 teaching staff and 16 non-teaching staff. The non-teaching staff are always handing on and are always working towards the smooth upkeep of the office and college. We are very proud to have a well-equipped library with state-of-the-art facilities and which is also a favourite abode of majority of our students. The achievements of our girls in the field of sports have been growing with the years. Our boxers, weightlifters and sprinters have always brought laurels to the institution. Our college has very dedicated and spirited NCC and NSS units which are socially committed. The students of our college are active participants of ASAP, ARIIA & IIC and they have also secured various prizes in the YIP 4.0. Our Science PG departments are DST- FIST sponsored and also get aid from RUSA. There is a Skill Enhanced IT Mission training centre of the Government of Kerala, functioning in the college. Every year our college is a forerunner in ranks among the colleges affiliated to the University of Kerala. The college continues its journey, crossing several milestones, carrying out its mission and realizing its vision.
