The Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Kerala, has established Jeevani, a comprehensive mental health project that focuses on the mental well-being of college students in Kerala. Jeevani’s goal is to raise mental health awareness and promote it among college students, as well as to ensure early detection of psychological difficulties. To accomplish this, a combination of universal awareness campaigns (i.e., regular awareness classes for all students) and focused early intervention programmes will be implemented.

The jeevani counsellor will accompany the students on their college journey, sharing their joys and sorrows and assisting them with their problems. Such psychological support would undoubtedly be of great advantage to the students.
